Köpings museum
At the edge of "Gamla Stan", the old town, lies Köpings Museum, a slanted, charming old stone building from the 18th century which was originally a brewery.
"Köpings history through 10,000 years" is shown inside the museum along with a special exhibit in honour of Carl Wilhelm Scheele, "In Memory of Scheele". Besides these two permanent exhibitions, there are always various other presentations and exhibitions to visit.
Köpings Museum even boasts a train museum, "KUJ Järnvägsmuseum" which lies on the other side of the small harbour.

Sedan 2012 är Köpings kommuns organisation miljöcertifierad enligt standarden ISO 14 001. Köping är en av de första kommunerna med miljöcertifikat för alla förvaltningar och bolag. Köping producerar också fjärrvärme med fossilfria bränslen och stora investeringar görs i fastigheterna för att spara miljön och förbättra klimatet.
