Visit Köping
Welcome!
On Lake Mälaren's western shore lies Köping, located in the Mälar valley and in the mineral and timber rich area known as Bergslagen. The beautiful and exhilarating scenery provides opportunities for many activities within sports, exercise, outdoor life and culture.
Just minutes away, to the north of the city, you can begin a discovery trip through the beautiful Hedström valley. In Kolsva, "The Gateway to Bergslagen", you'll find a magnificent mansion where both kings and gentlemen have enjoyed it's culinary fare.
“O Glorious Old Mountain-Crowned Land of the North”... these are the first words of the Swedish national anthem, the text of which was written by a man born and raised just outside of Köping in a little village called Odensvi. Richard Dybeck is one of Köpings most famous sons. Even more well-known is Carl Wilhelm Scheele.
We extend our warm welcome to you!
The tourist office can give you many tips about events and activities and can also help you to find accommodation and places to dine.
