Health care and treatment
There are four family health centres offering general health care in Köping's municipality. We also have our own hospital which offers a wide range of services and the accident and emergency department is always within easy reach. The county hospital is located in Västerås, which is half an hour's drive from Köping.
Well-developed care for the elderly
In Köping we genuinely see caring for the elderly as a top priority. Our aim is to help elderly people enjoy security and dignity in their old age, in an atmosphere of respect and consideration. This may go without saying, but it's not always as obvious as it sounds these days.
Places are readily available and all care homes have been newly built or modernised. The important home-help service has also been expanded. Compared to similar municipalities Köping also has a high level of staffing - some 800 people work in health care for the elderly and people with disabilities.

Sedan 2012 är Köpings kommuns organisation miljöcertifierad enligt standarden ISO 14 001. Köping är en av de första kommunerna med miljöcertifikat för alla förvaltningar och bolag. Köping producerar också fjärrvärme med fossilfria bränslen och stora investeringar görs i fastigheterna för att spara miljön och förbättra klimatet.
