Culture is a natural part of Köping and there are many different clubs and societies that are always happy to welcome new members. Time to make a dream come true? Time to take up music again?
Köping also has a wide array of children's and young people's culture. For instance, the town has one of Sweden's best rock concert halls and over 500 students a year attend the school of music. In addition, all pupils within compulsory schooling are guaranteed the opportunity to attend at least one theatre performance a year. Truly culture for all!
Leisure just around the corner
Leisure activities are never far away in Köping. It takes just a few minutes from the town centre to reach the jogging track, indoor tennis courts, the riding school, the golf course or the marina. If you live in another part of the municipality, there are also many other different activities for you to choose from.
In the wintertime there is the skiing track or the ice on lake Mälaren, as well as indoor sports centres and two swimming complexes. Children and young people can also choose from a wide range of different activities: Riding or ice-hockey, floorball or dance? If you enjoy table tennis, Köping is home to the Swedish Table Tennis upper secondary programme.

Sedan 2012 är Köpings kommuns organisation miljöcertifierad enligt standarden ISO 14 001. Köping är en av de första kommunerna med miljöcertifikat för alla förvaltningar och bolag. Köping producerar också fjärrvärme med fossilfria bränslen och stora investeringar görs i fastigheterna för att spara miljön och förbättra klimatet.
