Childcare and education
In Köping, childcare is close to your home, where you need it. The groups are small and the waiting lists pleasantly short. The care currently consists of around 50 pre-school departments in the municipality and just over 100 places in family day nursery.
New working environment in compulsory school
A good schooling environment for children lays the foundation for an enjoyable education in a positive atmosphere. In recent years the Primary schools in Köping have been comprehensively rebuilt which has resulted in a new, better working environment for both pupils and staff alike. The classes are small and each school has it’s own education profile.
Specialised upper secondary education
The Ullvi upper secondary school has around 1,200 pupils studying in 14 programmes. The school offers a wide variety of study options. In addition to standard national programmes, the school offers the "Volvo Engineering" programme - a specially designed course in association with Volvo, and the "Swedish Table Tennis" programme.
Higher education
Municipal adult education is well-established in the area. Köping Education Centre, Kompetenscenter, is a gathering of various forms of education which also offers university and college courses via distance learning.

Sedan 2012 är Köpings kommuns organisation miljöcertifierad enligt standarden ISO 14 001. Köping är en av de första kommunerna med miljöcertifikat för alla förvaltningar och bolag. Köping producerar också fjärrvärme med fossilfria bränslen och stora investeringar görs i fastigheterna för att spara miljön och förbättra klimatet.
